A fast-talking travelling salesman Harold Hill cons the usually stubborn people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organise to save the town from 'trouble', despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a triangle. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by the fall of the curtain. Featuring the rousing and well-known “Seventy-six Trombones”, the tender love-song “Till There Was You”, "Lida Rose", classic barber-shop singing and more great numbers! Wonderful toe-tapping family entertainment!
